Down By The Creek
We have a little urban park nearby called Byrne Creek Ravine Park, and it seems to me that not a lot of people know about this little treasure of a park. Mind you, it’s not that big of a park, and appears to be more of a gravel lined pathway that connects one major road to another via the pathway, and a steep set of stairs. But along this pathway is a fantastic little creek (Byrne Creek) that, a day or so after it rains, is a great spot to take photos and video. Sometimes, in the Fall, you can even catch the salmon spawning up the creek on the way to their spawning grounds. Very cool.
Alas, I did not see any salmon this time I was there to grab some photos and videos, but the water flowing made for some really great opportunities, in particular the flowing water, the sun coming through the trees, and the great foliage surrounding the creek. All in all, a great, albeit damp, morning spent out in nature. Perfection.
